Working in collaboration with designer Damian Wendelborn, we brought his vision to life through expert craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. The Urban Sanctuary won the Supreme Award, a Premier Award for Softscape, and a Premier Award for Maintenance at the 2025 Registered Master Landscapers' Landscapes of Distinction Awards.
The Urban Sanctuary features a diverse range of plant species, carefully selected and expertly planted to create a visually stunning and ecologically sound landscape. Second Nature's team has extensive knowledge of plant selection, soil preparation, and planting techniques, ensuring that every plant thrives in its environment.

"From the outset Second Nature demonstrated a deep understanding of our vision (created with us through Damien Wendleborn and Nat Cheshire) and executed the project with remarkable attention to detail. The final outcome not only met but exceeded our expectations, with an extraordinary level of craftsmanship and design expertise that has transformed our outdoor space."

Sustainable Design and Enduring Beauty
The Urban Sanctuary emphasizes a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and long-term sustainability, seamlessly integrating constructed elements with a thriving ecosystem. Careful selection of permeable materials for pathways and patios allows rainwater to filter back into the ground, reducing runoff and nourishing the surrounding plant life. The deliberate placement of specimen trees and shrubs creates a multi-layered environment, providing shade, privacy, and visual interest. The selection of low-maintenance groundcovers and drought-tolerant species reduces the need for excessive watering or chemical treatments, making the landscape resilient in Auckland's variable climate.
Second Nature's ongoing maintenance program ensures the garden's continued health and beauty, with regular pruning, fertilisation, and pest control implemented by our expert team. This thoughtful approach results in a sustainable and harmonious outdoor living space that enhances both the beauty and ecological value of the property, providing enjoyment for years to come.
